I know it's a Super Sniper, but I'm very unfamiliar with them.

Someone once told me that at one point Tasco was making scopes for Super Sniper. I like the looks of the Group Buy right now. Before I found the buy, I was considering a Trijicon T The HD line smokes anything Nikon makes and much of what Leupold makes. Anything Leupold makes worthwhile has been priced out of existence referring to Mk 6's and 8's. They are outrageously expensive. Quoted: Quoted: They are good scopes for the money, not Nikon or Leupold but good.

Quoted: bdc variant, brownells has a search function. View Quote Same here View Quote LOL wow! View Quote I was not referring to the HD line, op didn't specify which one View Quote I was a cop for 10yrs. Unfortunately some of the worst are the former military guys not all. Just take everything with a grain of salt. The scope mount cost more than that. View Quote Love it I returned two of the 3 I have bought for replacement and then donated them to the yearly match prize table.

I sold the other one when i got out of long range shooting. All were 10x42 models with side focus maybe it was a bad batch or mfg error. FYI: one of the reticles turned on a and the other on a 6. View Quote I have two of them. It's my favorite scope. I have one on a 5. Very clear but it really performs well in low light as well. The eye relief is very forgiving. And it's not too heavy which is always nice.

These are solid scopes and their customer service is second to none. I have their x on another AR, with the dmr reticle.

I bought it the moment they were released. During a recent move a super heavy table managed to fall on the soft case I had that gun in and hit the scope. It still held zero and functioned fine except for the magnification ring was dinged a little and couldn't adjust past two.

I called them, they said ship it to us and 3 days later I had a brand new one in my hand no questions asked. The expensive ones supposedly Light Optical Works. I have the mil version but to do it again I would probably get the MOA version because it has the floating.

I cannot comment personally on the more expensive ones but everyone on any forum I have read likes the glass a lot. Talking hd models here. To me they look very close to ior glass. I think it is excellent. I have a swaro z6 and i dont think it is quite that good, but it is pretty close. Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service don't mean a thing when your gun fails during a zombie attack.

My SS glass doesn't give up anything to my Conquests. Have a Swaro that is better, but it was over twice the price, so big deal. Those SS knob thingys- those really float my boat- clickety clickety and back again, just where they started- always. But I am looking for a higher magnification scope and really can't stomach another for the heritage.

Who makes these SWFA scopes? Or do they have an optics factory and build them themselves? I think the glass on my 10x42 not HD is alright. It has an odd quality to it that makes it almost seem as though I can't quite get centered in the exit pupil. There's sort of a Still works fine, though. This is in bright daylight. Tasco was the 2nd or 3rd owner of the Super Sniper brand. They were a great scope initially and then Tasco began to cut corners and the quality dropped.

SWFA bought the rights for them at some point and started making them up to the proper spec and even improved parts of them. This was the fixed 10x, 16x and 20x models. While this line does not have the best glass available as it should not and cannot for the price it is very usable and the repeatability and durability of the scopes are excellent Then SWFA created a whole new line with the SS HD models.

Speced out and designed by SWFA with input from shooters and customers. They share nothing similar with the original line including who makes them.

They are trying to discontinue the Super Sniper name as well as it is now the SS line. Just becareful when buying scopes, dont pay a high price for lower grade or when a little extra can get you higher quality.

Just out of curiosity cause was mentioned above if any US manufacturers, where are Trijicon Accupoints made from? My TR24g has very good clarity. Technically Trijicon scopes are put together in the US.

How much of the scope is actually made in the US is a different matter, and odds are the glass isn't made or finished here. Is it racist to make generalizations that European glass tends to be better than Chinese or Filipino?
