How long is parlee beach

Multiple samples are collected from water along the beach each morning from mid-May through October and sent to a lab in Fredericton for testing. Results are available about 24 hours later, meaning the no-swim advisories are posted a day after the elevated bacteria was present in the water. The 13 advisories this year are more than have been issued in any other year as of Aug. The next highest was six in and as of Aug. It's also close to the highest number of advisories stemming from sample results issued throughout a year, with 14 the highest in In , the province stopped issuing automatic no-swimming advisories following heavy rainfall.

Avoid the Beach but more important stay out of the water. Stay off the beach and out of the water. The testing is flawed and the results are days behind. Sewage from the over populated camp grounds and cottages is entering the water. The water is shallow and heats up with the sun, so bacteria flourish. The Government know about it but do nothing, They take in the money from the tourists but give zero in return.

Shediac, over priced, over crowded and best avoided. Anne Marie B 3 contributions. Water Quality at the Beach is Unsafe. This used to be a nice area. But there has been so much development in the area, it's affecting the water quality. The water quality at the beach was rated "Poor" on most of the days during our visit. That means it was unsafe to go in the water. The main attraction in this area is the beach, so if the water is unsafe to swim in, then that's a problem.

We will check on the water quality at Parlee Beach before we decide to go again. Bernadette M Moncton, Canada 1 contribution.

Ensure you call ahead to check water quality!! Was very disappointed today with parlee beach, My family and i wasted a couple of hours of our day getting ready and heading out to the beach, only to find out upon arrival the water quality was POOR and not recommended for kids to be in the water at all. We checked their Facebook and web page and found nothing posted about water quality…we could have used the time to plan something else and not wasted hours of a beautiful sunny day Michael P Vancouver, Canada 1 contribution.

The second year in a row the beach was closed to swimming most days we were here because of fecals and two other bacteria associated with sewage. We travelled from British Columbia. If you want to go some place and sit on sand and have the odd wiff of poop, this is the place. If you want your kids or mother in law to get flesh eating or cellulitis this is the place to send them swimming. I hope Shitiac and the NB Government get their act together, this used to be a great place to go.

We went in to the main desk and booked and paid for our camping lot - staff inside were extremely friendly. We asked if we could have two vehicles at the site, they informed us only one vehicle could be on site, which we were fine with. We asked if we could take both vehicles down to the site to unload then bring one back and they said it was no problem - until we got to the gate that is.

We went In one car after the other and the park ranger came over yelling at us asking what we thought we were doing.

We explained to him that the staff inside had told us that we could go down to the campsite to unload and then bring a car back. He would not listen to us, yelled at us, told us that we were liars and that the staff would never tell us that. He then proceeded to talk to the man next to him in French, after yelling at us for about ten minutes.

For E. It can take up to 48 hours between the sample collection date and the posting of results.
